Having Boys

After reading other blogs, having friends describe their days with their own children and living with my 2 boys, I have decided to start my own blog. At least this way I can have a place to immediately jot down those annoying, funny, crazy, sweet or awful things that seem to occur on a daily basis without having to track down one of my friends just to be able to get it off my chest.

Here is just a taste of the things the keep me laughing around here. My oldest son started middle school this year and believe it or not, I think I am going to like these next few years. He was playing football with some friends the other day and when he came in was telling me about some of the boys. One of the kids was described as very big and very tall so I asked "how old do you think he was?" The reply: "I don't know but he is starting to get hair on his chest." Maintaining all self control while stifling my laugh, I asked "how do you know?" The answer came "he was telling everyone and showing us." I could barely hold it together at that point. We did have a little chuckle about it together. I am thankful my son also sees the humor in it!

My youngest is the one who wants all the attention and will do anything to get a laugh. All this and he is only in 2nd grade. He did not want to get a haircut before the start of school because it has to be long enough to spike and style correctly. However, I am convinced he has the worst cowlick in the history of mankind on the back of his head. He also is frustrated by this fact so in the conversation about getting a haircut he told me "I don't want a haircut I just want them to cut the tomato stem off so it won't stick up like that." Tomato stem??? He wasn't looking for a laugh but he got one anyway!!

Lisa I can totally relate! I too started my own blog for just this reason. Our kids our young and completely innocent for such a short time and these days are so precious they need to be documented. Being a computer junkie, this is the best way I can keep a journal and keep friends and family up to date on what is going on!
